I am
Gayle Stan founder of Gayla
Wigs. I have owned a home in The
Woodlands for the past 18 years
after moving to the United
States from Canada 27 years ago.
I was working for a Medical
Company near Austin when I began
to develop a plan for new
business in The Woodlands.
For
six years, as the Medical
Company Marketing Director, my
territory covered Central Texas.
During this time, I also became
a certified Mastectomy fitter.
Since I have been wearing wigs
for the past eight years, during
my travels, my patients and
customers constantly admired my
hairstyles and many asked where
they could find a comfortable,
well-fitting, flattering wig?
Later, I took an Alternative
Hair Educational training
program. There I learned the
different hair designs and color
blends, the different techniques
in cutting and readjusting the
wigs to fit the patients
properly. Thus, was the
beginning of Gayla Wigs, a name
I thought would tie my name with
the many "galas" I have been
involved with in raising money
for cancer patients. |

Wigs is now located at
27327 Robinson Rd Ste #1,
Oak Ridge North, TX 77385.
We
are directly across 1-45 on the
east side of Woodlands Parkway
on Robinson road. We are so
excited about our new 2100 sq.
ft. location! We have three
beautiful fitting rooms, and a
wonderful showroom with a player
grand piano, a big screen TV (to
view the new Raquel wigs).
Meagan Nystrom comes to us as an
enthusiastic cosmetologist and
Nurse's Assistant.
I
love my work; helping and
sharing with many women that are
going through a difficult time.
In fact, as I write this
article, I received a telephone
call from a mother whose
17-year-old daughter just had
brain surgery. The young
girl was scared she will not be
accepted into her peer group
with most of her hair shaved
off. Many years ago I
would have never dreamed that my
lack of hair was going to
benefit so many women going
through traumatic hair loss.
I thank God for this opportunity
to help others!
For
the "ULTIMATE" hair experience I
advise one to make an
appointment so I can personally
fit the wig. All fittings are
conducted in private. I also
provide assistance and
information for my patients
regarding insurance company
reimbursements. |
